~ Chapter 28 ~ Episode 6 ~

As the morning sun rises, the family begins their day in the kitchen. Kade is reading the news on the Sim-pad while Kinley is eating breakfast before school. “Good morning.” Noelle says as she emerges from the bedroom.

She prepares herself a bowl of yogurt with fruit and takes a seat at the table. “Don’t you look pretty today.” she tells Kinley.

“Thank you mommy.” Kinley replies. Kade continues reading.

“Is yogurt yummy?” Kinley asks.

“Oh yes. It’s delicious, and healthy.” Noelle says taking another bite. “Would you like to try a taste?” Kinley nods. Noelle scoops a small amount of yogurt on the spoon for Kinley to taste. “Mmmmm…I like it!” Kinley says smacking her lips.

-BEEP BEEP- “Bus is here.” Kinley grabs her backpack and runs out the door.

“Have a good……day” Noelle says, the glass door closes before she can finish.

Things are pretty quiet between Kade and Noelle, they haven’t spoken a word since the previous evening. Noelle finishes eating her breakfast and Kade continues to read. “Uhhhhhhh!” he gasps.

“What? What’s the matter?” Noelle asks alarmed.

“This! This news story. Hidden Springs has made the headlines.” Kade tells Noelle.

“Really? Little ole’ Hidden Springs?” Noelle becomes antsy. “What’s it say?” she asks.

Kade scrolls through and continues reading. “It says there was a sim-napping.”

Noelle brings the dirty breakfast dishes to the sink and begins washing them.

“A sim-napping huh? Do they have any details?” Noelle asks as she scrubs the dishes clean.

Kade reads some more. “Um let’s see. It just says here that the kidnapper was a woman and that she snatched a female infant from her mother while at a park in Hidden Springs.”

“Oh my, that’s terrible! That poor mother!” Noelle shrieks.

“She must be so worried, not knowing where her baby is.”

“I know.” Kade replies.

I’m gonna go check on Sammy. I wanna make sure he’s okay.” Noelle leaves the kitchen. Kade continues to read the news article.

The article gives a description of the sim-napper. “Hmmmmm.” Kade thinks. He takes a seat at the island.

He reads more. “Geez, this happened at the park right down the street from Noelle’s old place. Scary.” he thinks. This story hits so close to home with having their own son Corey taken right out of their home while they were sleeping. Kade thinks of little Sammy, he couldn’t imagine him missing. Kade finishes the article and scrolls back to the top. Something clicks.

He notices the date the sim-napping took place…..the same day Sammy was born. Kade thinks for a moment.

“Oh God Noelle,  please tell me you didn’t.”
